Twitter is about to launch a new feature that will make it easier to quickly find and follow interesting people. Last week, Twitter announced Lists, a new feature that will allow users to curate and publish lists of Twitter users.
Mashable goes into a few more details, but the idea is that any Twitter user will be able to create a list of users and give that list a name. Lists will be public by default, so anyone viewing a profile can see that person’s lists and (this is the killer feature) follow everyone on the list with one click. I can see a lot of possibilities for the photography industry, heck I’ll probably create a list or two myself that contains some of the best photographers on Twitter, or photographers who are also heavy into social media. One of the challenges for new users to Twitter is to figure out who to follow, I suspect that user-curated lists will make that easier for many.
Look for Twitter’s lists “soon.” I’m looking forward to creating lists of photographers. Will you be on my list?
