Are You a Photographer Going to SXSW?

by Aaron on February 15, 2010

Town Lake Austin Texas FountainIn about a month, the South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival will take over Austin, Texas with events focused on Film, Music, and Interactive topics. I’ll be headed down there for the Interactive portion of the event, and it would be great to get together with other photographers who are in town. I know Trey Ratcliff has talked about a photowalk, and I’m sure there will be other opportunities for us to get together and make some pictures or simply chat over a beverage and/or bar-be-que.

Are you going to SXSW? Leave a comment and let’s keep in touch.

    One SXSW Note:
You may want to check the camera policy, in the past they stopped me from bringing my DSLR into any of the sessions because I didn't have a press pass. I understand they are fairly liberal about issuing them, but I haven't really looked into it.

Still lots of good photo opportunities even if you aren't able to get a pass.

Hopefully they will have relaxed the (frankly stupid) policy and it won't be an issue.

Thanks for the tip, I'll look into that.
